A house that never stopped being home
Casa Adele sits above Lake Garda in Tremosine, a hilltop town famous for its cliffside views and the dramatic Strada della Forra. It was Roberto's grandmother's house long before it was ever a place to stay, and it still feels that way: the terrace where she took her coffee, the garden she kept, the quiet of a lake town built into a mountainside.
Roberto lives and works in Milan now, but he comes back whenever the city gets too loud. He and his mother look after the house and every guest the way she would have: with a warm welcome, honest advice on where to eat, and the kind of care you can't fake.

Our story
This is grandmother Adele's home to us, and we want you to feel as at home here as we always have.
The apartment holds childhood memories of summers spent here with grandmother Adele. Those years shaped how the house still feels today: comfortable and unpretentious, always cared for.
Since 2014, Roberto has looked after the restoration and the day-to-day hosting himself, keeping the terrace furnished, the garden tidy, and the kitchen fully equipped for guests who want to cook.
When you arrive, we'll welcome you personally and share recommendations for the area, from lake activities to the best places to eat nearby. Pets are always welcome too, with a little notice.
Lake Garda and beyond
Terrazza del Brivido
The terrace at Pieve di Tremosine stands roughly 350 metres straight above Lake Garda, with nothing between the railing and the water below. Go early, when the light crosses the lake and the Verona shore stays sharp. The bar behind serves coffee to anyone willing to look down.
Strada della Forra
A single-lane road climbs the Brasa gorge from Campione to Vesio, cut into the rock and threaded through tunnels opening onto the drop. The opening car chase of Quantum of Solace used this road. Drive slowly, in daylight, and let anything wide come the other way first.
Limone sul Garda
Limone grew lemons commercially about as far north as anywhere in Europe, and the stone pillars of the old limonaie still climb the slope behind the village. The restored Limonaia del Castèl shows how the greenhouses carried the trees through winter. Below, the promenade runs the length of the shore and fills by ten in the morning.
Riva del Garda
Riva closes the lake at the northern end, hemmed in by vertical rock on three sides. The Rocca stands in the water beside an old town centre built under Austrian rule, and the beach runs east from the port towards Torbole. Ferries leave for Limone and Malcesine right through the summer.
Il Vittoriale degli Italiani
Gabriele d'Annunzio spent his last years building this estate above Gardone Riviera and left the whole property to the Italian state. The gardens step down the hillside past an open air amphitheatre, the prow of the warship Puglia set into the slope, and the biplane he flew over Vienna. The rooms inside stay dark and crowded with objects, arranged exactly as he wanted them.
Campione del Garda
The village sits on a delta at the foot of vertical cliffs, built around a cotton mill and emptied when the mill closed. Windsurfers and kitesurfers made the place busy again: the Ora blows in from the south most afternoons and holds steady until evening. A beach, a surf school and little else.
Sentiero del Ponale
Until the modern tunnel replaced the route, the Ponale was the only road from Riva to the Ledro valley, blasted into the cliff a hundred metres above the water. Cars have gone, so walkers and cyclists have the galleries and tunnels to themselves. Two hours out and back covers the best of the view.
Cascata del Varone
The Varone falls drop almost 100 metres into a gorge the water has cut over roughly twenty thousand years, with walkways built inside the rock face. Spray reaches both viewing platforms, so the air stays cold even in August. Twenty minutes covers the whole visit, and the botanical garden at the entrance is included.
Lago di Ledro
At around 650 metres above sea level, Lake Ledro is surrounded by meadows, woods and small villages. Its beaches offer a quiet day by the water, with swimming, canoeing and sailing on the lake. In Molina di Ledro, the Pile Dwelling Museum brings the Bronze Age to life through the remains of the settlement and reconstructed houses.
Visitor informationLago di Tenno
A small lake at 570 metres above sea level, known for water that shifts from turquoise to emerald. Walk along its shores or swim in the permitted areas in summer. Nearby, Canale di Tenno is a medieval village of narrow stone lanes. A local nature reserve protects the lake and its surroundings.
Visitor informationPasso Nota
At 1,208 metres, on the border between Lombardy and Trentino, Passo Nota opens onto woods and meadows in the Alto Garda Bresciano Park. Routes from Vesio cross the Bondo valley to the Alpini mountain hut. First World War trenches and fortifications remain on the surrounding hills, while hiking and mountain bike trails continue toward the Ledro valley and Tremalzo.
Visitor informationTremalzo
High mountain meadows, Alpine farms and views across the Ledro valley, Lake Garda and the surrounding peaks. Tremalzo is a starting point for walks and hikes, also known for its plants and migrating birds. The old military road toward Passo Nota is a mountain bike destination, with climbs and unpaved sections that require preparation.
Visitor informationMalcesine e Monte Baldo
The ferry from Limone crosses to Malcesine in around half an hour and lands under the Scaliger castle. From the edge of town the rotating cable car lifts you to 1,760 metres in ten minutes, turning through the whole climb so every seat gets the view. The ridge at the top holds walking trails, alpine flowers and both sides of Monte Baldo at once.
Sirmione
A narrow peninsula runs out into the southern lake, with the Scaliger castle and its moat closing the entrance to the old town. The Grotte di Catullo cover the tip: the remains of a large Roman villa, olive trees and open water on three sides. Thermal springs feed the spas, and there is free swimming off the rocks below the walls.
Verona
Verona sits an hour and a half south of the lake, with a Roman arena still in use. The opera festival fills the seats from June to September, and the old town around Piazza delle Erbe carries the UNESCO listing. Trains run from Peschiera del Garda if you would rather leave the car behind.
Gardaland
The largest theme park in Italy stands at Castelnuovo del Garda, half an hour from the southern shore, with gentle rides for small children and several built for everyone else. A SEA LIFE aquarium and two themed hotels share the site. Book online for a fixed date and arrive at opening, before the queues build.
